counting to five

Aberly was a little under the weather over Christmas, which meant lots of temperature taking...

I usually count to ten before we can take the thermometer out... apparently we counted so much, she eventually caught on... at least up to five.

BUT, I do have some news.... Some VERY GOOD NEWS....

RYAN PASSED THE PATENT BAR!!!!

This is a huge thing, so we are very excited... plus, it means Ryan won't have to take anymore exams/tests/bars at any point in the foreseeable future... another very good thing.

Sad News

Sooo, I am back in Texas again. Awaiting the long-anticipated move in date for our new home.

Anyway, I decided to dig out the cords for the camera and bring them with me so I could finally update the blog. I did this..... rummaged through all the suitcases until I found that much needed cord.

One small, little-bitty problem....

I left the camera! So, while the cord is in Texas, the camera is back in Oklahoma... guess you guys will have to wait at least one more week. Sorry!!!

*** Update: Sent the cord back home to Oklahoma with Ryan, if he gets a chance he will upload the photos. However, he has the patent bar next week and will be studying non-stop....soooo, I am sure you will understand if he doesn't get them uploaded either. Until then....

Okay, Okay, so I have been slacking on the blog updates. I need to find the cord to upload all the new photos. Until then, you can enjoy this "interesting" photo...

But before we get to the photo, a little background info:

Aberly is a monkey/acrobat/rock climber type child. We have learned she can climb out of pretty much anything. So, until we got around to getting her toddler bed, we had to resort to this....




In case you wondered, she figured out how to get out of this as well. That includes after we put a giant heavy suitcase on top of the crib...... Baby Houdini.

Since we were in Austin, we met up with an old college friend. She had twins about 6 months ago, so I got to meet them for the first time..... so cute!!!!

Okay, so its been awhile.... Here are a hodge podge of shots.

Now, there is always time to sword fight with Papi at the new house... after, of course, stopping to play at Lowes for a bit. (I think the kiddos think Lowes is our second home.)

Smartest kid ever or just confused?

A couple of conversations with Ryan P. over the past few days.

#1: I am holding a dinosaur up in the air when Ryan walks by...
Ryan: "Mama, that dinosaur can't fly.... That's not a pterodactyl, that's a T-Rex."
Me: "Uhhh, yes, you are correct, sorry 'bout that."

#2: As we are discussing upcoming Thanksgiving...
Ryan: "Yeah, its where you get lots of candy when you go to Santa's Tomb!"
(How many holidays is that.... four???)

#3: Bedtime Stall Tactics: After coming to the bathroom to get a drink of water:
Ryan: "Good night.... See you in the morning... Make sure you eat lots and lots of food, so you don't get cold!!!"
Me: "That doesn't even make sense.... go to bed."

#4 Ryan is eating grapes:
Me: "You need to eat at least three of those before you get down."
Ryan: "So, if I eat one, then I will only have to eat two more.... and if I eat two, then I will only have to eat one more?"
(Wow, who knew he could subtract... mommy was very proud.)

There are plenty more, but I will save them for later.... #2 is my favorite right now.

Oh yeah, I think we forgot to mention....

Okay, so we have the most adorable video of Aberly EVER!!!! However, she is in the tub, which means she is naked. We were somewhat hesitant to post the video, but if you want to see it let me know and I will send it your way. If you like laughing babies, you will love the video. :)

New Shoes from Nana

Nana got these lovely galoshes for Aberly. She wore them quite a bit last week when we were in Texas... so Nana was nice enough to send them back home with her big brother. When I pulled them out of the suitcase, she got all excited. She immediately put them on and ran for the front door, the entire time saying.... Nana Nana!!! I think she likes the gift Nana.... Thanks!!!
