Mr. No-Nap
First, a little background information:
Our son doesn't take naps. He hasn't for about 2 years now. He absolutely refuses to take naps and gets upset if you even imply that he should take one.
Here's the rub:
Because he doesn't take naps he typically falls asleep immediately if you can somehow force him to be still. Our secret weapon? The car seat. It's sort of an irresistible force meets an immovable object kind of thing.
With that setup, here's our little documentary...

Medieval Fair
The family headed out on a mini-vacation... to the Medieval fair.
(Just between us, this was nothing compare to Ren-Fair in Texas... but honestly what can compare when you're talking Texas) :) However, it was a really good day.
We met a bear (okay a guy in a bear costume... but he was really realistic... I can't believe we didn't get a shot of the bear.)
We watched some jousting and sword fighting, tried on a few hats, had some turkey legs and tons of other exciting things. Ryan P had a blast.

Ryan tried his hand at a little knife throwing.
Turns out... he is pretty good. Hit the target dead on... and got this little certificate to prove it. Good job honeys!!!

FINE, ALREADY!!!
Okay, okay, I will update the blog...
So, I don't have many photos, we just haven't had time to take many pictures since we have been getting adjusted to our new home. But hopefully that will change soon. So enjoy what little we have...
Just a couple of photos to prove our kiddos are still cuties.
...And now for the videos. The lighting is horrible, but I think they are cute.
Aberly found a hat while we are unpacking... so she runs around all day yelling yeehaw, or rather, hoohaw. She usually adds pad-na (partner) at the end, but I couldn't get her to say it on video. Oh well, Enjoy...
Here is Ryan Patrick trying out the Wii fit. For those unaware, the goal here is to lean left and right trying to hit the soccer balls with your head. Ryan thinks it is hilarious... gotta say though, he isn't very good at it... he is too busy laughing.

counting to five
Aberly was a little under the weather over Christmas, which meant lots of temperature taking...
I usually count to ten before we can take the thermometer out... apparently we counted so much, she eventually caught on... at least up to five.

BUT, I do have some news.... Some VERY GOOD NEWS....
RYAN PASSED THE PATENT BAR!!!!
This is a huge thing, so we are very excited... plus, it means Ryan won't have to take anymore exams/tests/bars at any point in the foreseeable future... another very good thing.

Sad News
Sooo, I am back in Texas again. Awaiting the long-anticipated move in date for our new home.
Anyway, I decided to dig out the cords for the camera and bring them with me so I could finally update the blog. I did this..... rummaged through all the suitcases until I found that much needed cord.
One small, little-bitty problem....
I left the camera! So, while the cord is in Texas, the camera is back in Oklahoma... guess you guys will have to wait at least one more week. Sorry!!!
*** Update: Sent the cord back home to Oklahoma with Ryan, if he gets a chance he will upload the photos. However, he has the patent bar next week and will be studying non-stop....soooo, I am sure you will understand if he doesn't get them uploaded either. Until then....

Just until I upload the Christmas pics....
Okay, Okay, so I have been slacking on the blog updates. I need to find the cord to upload all the new photos. Until then, you can enjoy this "interesting" photo...
But before we get to the photo, a little background info:
Aberly is a monkey/acrobat/rock climber type child. We have learned she can climb out of pretty much anything. So, until we got around to getting her toddler bed, we had to resort to this....
In case you wondered, she figured out how to get out of this as well. That includes after we put a giant heavy suitcase on top of the crib...... Baby Houdini.
(p.s. please don't call cps on us. Thanks!)

Gingerbread House with Aunt Ashley

Since we were in Austin, we met up with an old college friend. She had twins about 6 months ago, so I got to meet them for the first time..... so cute!!!!
